Wedding tips from your photographer

So, you have chosen me as your photographer and we are super excited to work together. Your wedding day starts to approach and we begin to discuss the details of your wedding and a time line. But, sometimes I forget to mention certain things that I would love for all my brides to do to make your images even more extraordinary! Here I will be sharing some tips on how to prepare for your wedding photographer, aka me. :)

Mat + Allison {engaged}- Notre Dame in the spring!

I had a great day hanging out will Allison, Mat and Danger. The are both very familiar with the ND campus since they both attended college there. They let me know that tailgating and attending ND football games are their favorite pass times. So we thought we would incorporate a mock tailgate. It was way fun! They were so great to work with and I loved speaking to them and getting to know them. They were full of laughter and even though we walked all over the campus with hand fulls of props, it was still a good time.

Mat + Allison, Thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer! I look forward to your wedding in October!

Ps. I always get lost at the ND campus, thankfully they found me and were amazing guides through out! I wish I could take credit for the locations but, that was all them!

Nicholas + Bailey {engaged}

May 15th, 2012

I remember receiving one of the sweetest emails ever, she wrote me her love story, how her and Nick met. How photos are so important to her and how my work just seems to be just what she wants. I decided to meet with Bailey for a consult. It did not feel like a typical bridal consultation at all. I felt like we have been friends for a long time just catching up. I just knew that I would love being part of her day.

At the time of our session, I was way excited for all she had planned. I knew it would be perfect. When I arrived at their home I was greeted by her family and I was surprised that I recognized her son and her mother. Her son and my son actually go to preschool together and I remember going on a school field trip and speaking to her mom for a bit. It was such a “small world” moment! I just knew there was a reason why I wanted to be part of their day. Their whole family is super sweet and made me feel so welcomed and that was just for the engagement session!

We did most of the session in her families property. She had collected an antique organ that we used for the session. We took some photos on her old swing set and then we had a little outdoor tent set up (thank you Nick) for our pretend camping outing. It was so great capturing their love for one and another. I loved getting to know them a bit more and I so look forward to their wedding in October (my last wedding of 2012). I cannot wait!
